How a Man Shows His Love For You

In my hundreds of interviews with men, I’ve come to the conclusion that men love more deeply than women and that it’s a much more profound experience for them.
The reason I believe this is because most men are brought up to stuff down their feelings, particularly if the feelings are considered to be feminine ones. So by the time they’re in middle school, they’ve already learned to numb their feelings to the point that they don’t even know they’re there.
But love is such a big emotion when it hits them that they’re almost overwhelmed with the immensity of it. It cannot be ignored or denied. And because it’s so huge, they barely know what to do with it. When a man feels true love, the woman they love is a thing to treasure and they are almost in awe of what is happening.
Love Differences for Men and Women
In comparison, love for women is wrapped up in a lot of other emotions. Women get caught up with the fantasies, wishes fulfilled, joy, excitement, anticipation, planning, etc. Because of this, love in its purest forms gets diluted with all the other things that go along with it.
As women we feel it deeply, but it’s not the huge, earthshaking experience that can hardly be put into words as it is to a man. And often, when men feel this kind of love, they DON’T put it to words because they are just that into it.
Men usually don’t want or need to talk about their feelings, but women do. Men don’t need to put it to words because love simply makes them want to act on it by being with the woman they love. One of my twelve Secrets about men is, “Men show love through action.”
If you’re willing to understand this very important difference between men and women, you can relax and enjoy his way of experiencing and expressing love, rather than dampening his feelings by insisting that he express it in the same way as you.
